Over the past 7 weeks we’ve seen 250+ makers take part in building 72 projects on bitcoin and Lightning, battling it out to become the first ever Legend of Lightning.
We have been blown away by the quality of projects entered into the tournament, as well as the maker community’s positive and engaging attitude towards building in public. A big thank you to everyone who has taken part so far!
What happens next?
Now that the project entries have closed, the judges will spend the next few days evaluating and scoring. On Mon 28th Nov @ ~18:00 UTC we will release a shortlist of 8 finalists from each track!
The finalists will then get an extra week to continue working on their projects, putting in any extra features or finishing touches. On Dec 6th, we will host a Finals day live stream for each track, giving founders a chance to re-pitch their projects live to the world! (This can also be done with a pre-recorded pitch). Our judges will then rescore the projects and announce the winners on Dec 7th!
What happens if my project doesn’t get through to the finals?
Unfortunately not all projects can continue to the tournament finals. However, that doesn’t mean it’s the end of the road for you. If you’ve enjoyed the experience and are looking to continue accelerating your project, we urge you to do just that.
Next week we have 2 funding workshops that are designed to give makers an idea of what routes they can take to sustain their projects moving forward. We’ll be chatting to VC and crowd funding experts, so you can find the right funding path that suits your project and team’s needs. These workshops will be:
#1: Funding Your Bitcoin Projects Using Open Grants on Geyser (Tue 29 Nov, 12:30 UTC)
#2: Roundtable Discussion with Bitcoin VC Experts (Wed 30 Nov, 18:00 UTC)
Good luck to every maker involved, you all rock! 👊⚡️
